In May 2024, cargo turnover of the port of Astrakhan increased by 4.66% against the same month of 2023 and amounted to 396.6 thousand tons.
According to the data, exports decreased by 0.73%, imports were handled 40.49% more than in May 2023.
The share of exports in the cargo turnover structure was 72.09%, of which 63.45% (181.4 thousand tons) of grain was handled. The increase compared to the same month last year amounted to 2.48%. The second in terms of export volumes is food cargo, its share amounted to 19.27% (55.1 thousand tons). Forest cargo turnover decreased by 56.22% to 21.7 thousand tons in May 2024.
Import cargo turnover accounted for 24.53%. The highest dynamics was in the general cargo segment, transshipment of which increased by 35.13% and reached 57.5 thousand tons. The share of tare and piece cargoes amounted to 20.04% (19.5 thousand tons), which led to an increase of 45.13% against May 2023. There was also a decline in container cargoes, which amounted to 79.1%.
