IRISL to build 10 vessels

Iranian shipping company Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) - Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines - has signed agreements worth $86 million with domestic shipyards to build 10 vessels for the country's fleet.

According to IRISL CEO Mohammadreza Modares-Hiabani, Sadra Neka Shipbuilding Industries has been assigned to build 4 of the mentioned 10 vessels, while the remaining 6 vessels will be built at Arvandan Shipbuilding Industries shipyard.

Negotiations are also underway to sign a contract for the construction of 4 more vessels worth about $75 million with another domestic manufacturer.

Containers are being delivered to the port of destination without repacking.

THC is not included in the tariff cost. ITS LLC provides services on FIFO terms (without loading and unloading). The cost of THC is paid by the sender and consignee at the ports of departure and destination, respectively.

The container stock is located in PJSC Astrakhan Port.

  • ССD (Cargo Customs Declaration);
  • Cargo information;

  • License/ other permits for the export of cargo;
  • Phytosanitary Certificate (for sawn wood);
  • Multimodal declaration (dangerous goods).

  • Contract/ power pf attorney from the consignee to the B/L for the forwarding agent or representative;
  • Telex release issued by the agent at the port of departure;
  • Additional expenses payment;

The standard storage period at PJSC Astrakhan Port is 14 days since the day of unloading.

Our company grants the opportunity to book a container in all directions including India, UAE, China, South Korea and other countries.

We provide ref.containers, only along the route with the final destination in Iran.

When transporting on the North-South TC, 2 B/L are issued. The first bill of lading covers the entire route from Astrakhan to the destination port and vice versa. The second bill of lading (a feeder B/L) is necessary for carrying out customs procedures in Russia during transportation across the Caspian Sea.

Transportation across the Caspian Sea to Iran takes from 5 days up to a couple of weeks. The duration depends on the congestion of the Volga-Caspian Canal and weather conditions.

A customer can find out the location of the vessel by calling the office of ITS LLC. There are no public access programs for tracking ships at the moment.
