Iranian shipping company Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) - Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines - has signed agreements worth $86 million with domestic shipyards to build 10 vessels for the country's fleet.
According to IRISL CEO Mohammadreza Modares-Hiabani, Sadra Neka Shipbuilding Industries has been assigned to build 4 of the mentioned 10 vessels, while the remaining 6 vessels will be built at Arvandan Shipbuilding Industries shipyard.
Negotiations are also underway to sign a contract for the construction of 4 more vessels worth about $75 million with another domestic manufacturer.
